the Maltease Falcon is a perfect demenstration of the film noir genre. This world is a world where the government is corrupt, the women are dangerous and sexy, and the heroes are heroes because they just aren't completely as evil as the bad guys. The story takes us on a wild ride of the life of Sam Spade our 'Hero' when he gets dragged into a world that completely changes his world around. Its a good movie but I'm the type of guy that likes a hero who can inspire the crowd instead of just making you feel bad because they're relatable and human. Though I will admit that I like the fact that the annoying love interest got their comupants instead of living happily ever after. I love love but I hate it when it's confused with lust and the characters don't deverse to live at the end of the film much less live happily ever after.
